III: Delivery
"School counselors should possess the knowledge, abilities, skills and attitudes necessary to deliver a school counseling program aligning with the ASCA National Model."
Delivery encompasses most of the school counselors time and includes both indirect and direct responsive services to students. Direct services comprise the core curriculum and consist of lessons developed to assist in students knowledge, attitudes and skills delivered throughout the K-12 school counseling curriculum. Direct services include providing responsive series to students, parents, colleagues and the school community through student planning and responsive services. Individual student planning consists of the ongoing activities that assist students in creating personal goals and future plans. Responsive services are implemented by meeting students' needs and concerns and are implemented through counseling in individual and small group settings or through crisis response. Indirect series are provided to the students and include referrals, consultations, and collaboration with various school stakeholders.
