Referral Procedures
School counselors must provide referrals for various members of the school community including the students, parents, colleagues and for members of the school community. School counselors should possess knowledge of various organizations that provide a wide range of services to the community. Referrals and consultations with stakeholders and students are part of the indirect and direct services that school counselors provide. Although schools and school cousnelros can provide a great deal of resources, some needs may be outside the ability of the school or school counselor. Below are some various resources for other community agency that school counselor's can refer the community to.

The community mapping website contains various descriptions and contact information for local counseling services, physical activity services, after school care, religious organizations, a law office and a teaching resource store.

Another important referral resource that is important for school cousnelors to possess knowledge of are outside coullors in the community that may provide services that are outside the expertise of school cousenlors.
