Individual Delivery- Calm Down Sandwich
The Calm Down Sandwich activity is useful for students in elementary school who are struggling with anger outbursts or who lack emotional self-regulation. The activity helps students to realize what makes them angry by having them write down three different things at school that make them angry. The next part guides them to think about three adults in the building that can help them when they are angry. The last part of the written activity is think about 6 different things they can do to calm down. The 6 coping skills that they write down are included as the bread, cheese, meat, lettuce, tomato and bread. Lastly, when I used this activity I had the students cut all the parts of the sandwich and create a tangible sandwich that is stapled that they can keep in their desks and can access when they start to feel angry.

Group Delivery- New Student Scavenger Hunt
|
The New Student Scavenger Hunt was created to help the elementary school students learn the building and meet the different important people at the school. Each grade was given a tour by the school counseling interns and each page of the scavenger hunt booklet had a destination that we visited and a spot for each of the teachers at that destination to give them a sticker that represented their position and the teachers gave the students an object that represented their job. The students were able to meet other new students to Burris. We were also able to have a few ambassadors from each class show the new students around and make relationships with these students in a safe manner.

Classroom Delivery- Career Guidance Lesson
During pre-practicum I created a career guidance lesson for a class of 1st grade students. For this career ABC book the students learned what a career was, why they are important and they learned about the skills and education needed for different careers. The children created a booklet of five different careers that were non-traditional. The pre/post-test indicated that students learned about careers.

School-Wide Delivery- College Go Week
College GO week at Burris was very exciting. The interns created a bulletin board similar to the game of life that featured college related questions on each life spot. The game board consisted of logos of colleges all over the U.S. There were also facts about what colleges the teachers and administrators attended. We used this as an incentive for students to look at the board. We also included the map of Indiana colleges and Universities so that students could learn more about the Indiana colleges. Lastly, we communicated with all of the teachers to find out what colleges they went to. We created signs that had their names and colleges so students would know what colleges they went to. Our hope was that students who were interested in those schools would be able to talk to those teachers about the colleges of interest.
